I am searching for my Woodcock family. Elizabeth Higgins and Andrew Woodcock had three little girls in Alabama or Louisanna in the late 1800's. Two daughters were named Alice and Elizabeth. I believe one was Mary. Elizabeth Higgins died in childbirth with Elizabeth Woodcock around 1889 and the three girls were raised in an Episcopal orphanage. I think Andrew Woodcock was a doctor. He may have remarried. Alice(daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth) was my grandmother but died in 1951 a year before I was born. She married Carl John Rickman from Sweden in Louisanna somewhere between 1891 and 1905. My dad was their child born in 1906 in Chicago when my Grandmother was 34 years old. My father's birth certificate names her as Alice Bacon Woodcock. There may be some connection to Galveston Texas or Chicago or New Orleans. My grandmother (Alice Rickman nee Woocock) and my great Aunt Bessie (Miss Elizabeth Woodcock) were member of the Eastern Star in later years in the Chicago and suburban chicago area. Thank you for any leads that you could offer to me on my family tree.

A Mark Carter below has mentioned his mother's family, which seems to tie in with mine -- a Edgar Woodcock born 16th May 1840 in Maidstone Kent is my ancestor. His email doesn't work. Does anyone have a newer email??
Many thanks.

Parents are William and Emma and they were from Birmingham, born very close to the mid 1800s. Children born around the dates 1870-1900. Celestine later moved to Devon.

I am the present owner, 3rd. generation, of a "South Vancouver Pioneer Home" originally built and owned by one "Albine Woodcock".

The home, originally addressed 2752 East 45th Avenue, later 3356 East 44th Avenue, was built in 1912 (or earlier).

I inherited the my family home in 1998 and have, with great interest, researched its heritage and history. Details can be found at: http://www.geocities.com/njallan/history.html.
