I am looking for James Woodcock born in about 1819 in NY, was in the Civil War and died at Antietam, Sept. 17, 1862. He had a daughter named Jessie E., who married Matthew Stillman Clark in 1876. I have no other information about James and would like to find a connection to parents, wife, etc. Thank you.

Our 10 year old Daughter, Meg is doing a school project on family heritage. She's very interested in knowing more about the Woodcock side that is non bird related. If anyone has information about how the WOODCOCK name came about, Coat of Arms, Intesesting stories (We enjoyed the Isles of Sciliy) we'd really appreciate it :) Thanks!!!!

The Woodcock Reunion held at Myrtle Beach SC was a great success. The youngest attendee was under 3 months and the senor was over 81 yrs young. There was over 80 individuals and I was told that it is growing each year with other new "cousins" like me attending. It will be held again next Oct, so look for the announcement. Edward

Is anyone else researching the name WOODCOCK from Kingston on Hull in East Yorkshire? My gr.gr.grandfather was Charles Woodcock born c.1846 and on the 1881 census it says that he was born in Hull. However further searches have found no record of his birth in or around the Hull area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information about my gg grandmother, Jane (Jennie ) Woodcock. She married C.C. Lyon at Chilton, Wisconsin in 1864. I believe she lived from 1838 to 1899. Her marriage registration says her parents were David and Sarah Woodcock.
Thanks for the great website.

We now own a home built in 1909 in Seattle's Wallingford district and owned by Edith Woodcock around that time. I am just curious about the woman who owned this home and her history.

Wow... awesome! I was just putting a website together (well a Yahoo site) for the children and grandchildren of Melvin and Elizabeth: http://www.cwoodcock.com/cgi-bin/igmget.cgi/n=cbfamily?I3065 to get in touch / keep in touch. I stumbled across this site when I typed in my name without my married last name and was very surprised to see the work that Connie Bailey has done here! Congratulations to you Connie! Impressive, and wonderful to have this available!
