My Great Great Grandfather was William Woodcock and Married to an Irish girl Isabelle Moton. One daughter was born to this union - Martha Jean Woodcock. Isabelle died giving birth to another daughter named "Etta" or "Mary Etta". Another marriage resulted in 2 more daughters and a son. This was in Louisiana and Missippi. Any info appreciated.

Hello everyone. I am trying to trace my fathers family. His mother was Annie Woodcock or Woodcocks/cox. She was born about 1881 in or near Dawley in Shropshire England. Her father was George Woodcocks, mother Lucy. Do not know what happened to George but Lucy died in 1912 and is buried in Oakengates Shropshire. Annie, (my grandmother) was a domestic servant and had a baby girl, Ellen, out of wedlock in 1897. By 1898 Annie and Ellen were in Southall Middlesex near London England, where my grandmother, Annie, married my grandfather, Arthur Charles Herbert Taylor. My father was the result of this marriage, in 1918. Annie died when Dad was only six years old in 1924. Apart from his half sister Ellen, my dad never thought he had any relatives but I think his mother, Annie, was one of five children, others named Edward, William, Sarah J. and Anne M. They were all the children of George and Lucy and are listed on the 1881 and 1891 censuses. The sons followed their father into the coal mines and were still living in the Dawley area in 1901. Has anyone got any Woodcocks family information that fits with any of this please? I know Edward married and had a family, but that is all I know. Would love to contact any descendents. Sorry information so vague. Thanks in advance.

Hi, my birth mothers maiden name was Violet Luella Woodcock. Her parents names were either Flora Rose Keller, and George Woodcock. She married my birth father Bob Hilts from Coehill ontario. They had 16 children and most were taken away by CAS. All of the kids are trying to make sense of this confusion about who where our mother was from.
She was born from what l have been told, 1923, She passed away Sept 18 1991. she had numorous brothers and sisters. I is really important that l find this information out. L have traced my birth father's family back to europe, but it seems l can't find any info about my mother. We have been told names, but any info we try to find throught the internet, is a big fat blank.
If anyone has even a hint of these people, it would be greatfully appreciated..

I was born 1959, in Coehill ontario canada. I was adopted, in 1968, and at birth my mother's name was Violet Luella Hilts. Her father was a George Woodcock, Who married a Flora Rossana Keller. My mother and father had 16 children, and I have met most of my sibblings except one younger brother, who was adopted as well, shortly after birth. I have been told that my birth mother was born at Stoney Creek Ontario. We are really confused about who is who, and our mother passed away in 1991. Violet, born about: jan 27 1924, had several sibblings of which I met one, a Rita or Reta whom was married to one Ernie Lessard. she too passed away, but I was able to congirm some of the info we have learned about our mothers parents. The names and dates seem really confusing, and I'm hoping that I can find some help. If anyone can shed some true light on the info we are looking for, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Steve Slavin
